      Hello Curly Bob 44,

I think that would be possibly Leonardo da Vinci! He was a great thinker, artist and philosopher, one of the best not just in the 15th century but of all time probably!

We know mainly know him for his art, but he actually spent quite a bit more time working on his endeavours in science and technology.
We can still see many of his ideas and inventions in his detailed sketch books! He invented weapons of war, flying machines, tools and water systems to name a few.

Many of his ideas he never actually build and tested, but hundreds of years later they were build by others and are still used.
For example, he proposed an “airscrew”, the device was designed to compress air to obtain flight – this idea is very similar to how helicopters work now, only of course they have build those only over 400 years later!

Someone build the model on this website:

Yeah, I’d have to go with da Vinci as well. He had an amazing sense of curiosity and moments of absolute genius. He was always trying something new in his work, whether that was painting, sculpting, mathematics or sketching doodles of battle tanks when he was bored!

It was actually a big problem for him: He was so curious about the world that he got easily distracted from his work, most of his inventions never got built, and a lot of rich people who commissioned him to make paintings got fed up waiting for their art and just stopped paying him. Too much curiosity is a bad thing some times 🙂
