I used to have great fun with baking soda and vinegar in a soda bottle, I made a lot of mess and my parents and neighbors didn’t appreciate it!

One time as a kid my dad brought home a small botlle of hydrochloric acid, and we made a small bomb by adding it to iron filings, which fizzed up very violently and made a big bang.

I also got a load of fireworks when I was on holiday in France (hey, it was perfectly legal in France!), and may have put a large firecracker in a big cow pat to see what would happen. the result was, uh, very messy.
